Text Message Banking is a free service which allows you to quickly and securely check balances, transfer funds and receive account details via text message. You won’t need to sign in and it’s just a secure as our other services. You can also sign up for weekly balance and low balance alerts.

If you’re an existing Online Banking customer, log in to online banking and click the “Mobile Banking & Alerts” tab and follow the step-by-step instructions to sign up. Be sure to have your mobile phone nearby as you will receive a verification code via text during the activation process. If you are not already an Online Banking user, enroll today
Is it secure? |
Our Text Message Banking service is secure. However, we encourage customers to safeguard their mobile device from any unauthorized use. Messages from us will never contain full account numbers.
Will I be charged for Text Message Banking? |
We offer Text Message Banking as a free service. However, standard carrier fees for text messaging may apply. Please check with your mobile phone carrier if you aren’t sure what fees apply when you send and receive text messages.
Will Text Message Banking work on my phone? |
Text Message Banking will work on any phone enabled to send and receive text messages. Please check with your mobile carrier regarding availability of text messaging on your phone if you are unsure.
How do I stop the Text Message Banking service? |
At any time you may text the word STOP from your phone to 454545 (First Southern's Mobile Short Code). You can also log in to Online Banking, select Mobile Banking & Alerts, and click the "Deactivate" link next to your mobile number. You may reactivate Text Message Banking at any time.
Why do I need to verify my phone? |
Verifying your phone is a one-time step and is one way we ensure the security of Text Message Banking.
I share a joint account. Can I set up two phones for the same primary account? |
To add an additional phone, log in to Online Banking, select Mobile Banking & Alerts, and click on the "Activate another phone" link to add another phone.
