First Southern Hosts 18th Annual Taste of Jessamine County

NICHOLASVILLE, KY – First Southern National Bank will host the 18th Annual Taste of Jessamine County on Friday, May 8, from 6 – 8:00 pm. The event will take place at the R.J. Corman Hangar 2 in Nicholasville, KY. Proceeds from the event will benefit AdventureServe Ministries, Jessamine County Food Pantry and Nicholasville UMC Manna Meals.

AdventureServe Ministries was established in 1981 in Wilmore, Kentucky. They provide Christ-centered adventure experiences that focus on transformation through community, spiritual and leadership development. Combining activities like caving, rock climbing and canoeing with traditional mission opportunities, AdventureServe creates unique and challenging experiences that are sure to leave lasting impressions. AdventureServe Ministries currently serves central and eastern Kentucky and Tennessee.

The Jessamine County Food Pantry is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to eliminating hunger. A local affiliate of God's Pantry for Jessamine County and a partner with America's Second Harvest, this non-profit was started by the Jessamine County Ministerial Association to be a cooperative effort among churches, businesses and individuals seeking to eliminate hunger in the community. Out of a love for God and His children, the Jessamine County Food Pantry provides food, free of charge, to community neighbors in need.

The Nicholasville United Methodist Church Manna Meals program began in 2008 serving meals once per month. With the loving support of the United Methodist Church community, contributions from local businesses and caring volunteers, Manna Meals has expanded its services to serve thousands of meals each year to those in need.

“We’ve been doing this for a long time now, and the love and support from our communities never cease to amaze me. We’re hoping to have a record-breaking turnout this year and simply cannot wait!” said Sam Lee, First Southern Community President. “We’re hosting the event at the R.J. Corman location again this year, so we’ll have plenty of room and lots of great food.”

Tickets are $10 each for adults and $5 each for children and may be purchased from any First Southern National Bank Team Member or at the door on the day of the event. Bank hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Thursday, 8:00am – 6:00pm on Fridays and on Saturdays from 9:00am – 12:00pm. Tickets may be purchased in-person or by phone at 859-885-1222.
